This month, we say goodbye to our Atlas Corps Fellow and Director of Operations, Nyasha Chibanda.

Nyasha Chibanda

Nyasha, originally from Zimbabwe, joined the BroadFutures team last January as an Atlas Corps Fellow. Prior to joining BroadFutures, he was working at Harambee in South Africa. Nyasha has  a background in community engagement, youth employment initiatives and workforce training, and he has contributed his talents and energy to help improve our programs. As Director of Operations at BroadFutures, h e helped to implement a new data management system that has streamlined our entire operation.  Nyasha has also been able to continue working in youth development, an area he is passionate about, as a mentor. He has also engaged in different methods of outreach to help serve more young adults in our community with learning and related disabilities.

Reflecting on his time here, Nyasha had this to say: "When I committed to spending a year of service in the United States, I could not have imagined the magnitude of professional growth I would experience during the year. As a youth development practitioner keen to develop knowledge, skills, and abilities in the field, I could not have asked for a better host organization than BroadFutures. The organization's holistic approach to youth workforce development, programming and commitment to promoting disability inclusion in the workforce provided enduring lessons that will be important in my professional journey."

Nyasha is excited to return to South Africa, bringing back new lessons and youth development skills with him. We are sad to see him go, but know that he will continue to succeed in this next chapter of his career.  Good luck, Nyasha, and thank you for all the work you have done with us! We can't wait to see what you do next!!
